ThermoKey was chosen for a custom project with a major construction group in the Baltic states. The challenge was to provide 72 MW cooling capacity using as few units as possible, ensuring long-term reliability and compliance with strict noise level regulations.
To verify the system’s robustness over time, additional performance testing confirmed that the cooling system could reliably deliver the required 72 MW capacity.
The solution incorporated 28 bespoke Superjumbo units, equipped with EC motors controlled via 0-10V signals. These motors operate at a nominal point of 70%, creating a reserve in cooling capacity, particularly useful during periods when the fins might accumulate dust.
In terms of noise compliance, EC motors provided the flexibility to reduce fan RPM during nighttime, maintaining cooling performance while minimizing noise.
To further optimize space and efficiency, ThermoKey introduced additional mounting points between units, allowing the customer to install metal sheets to prevent air recirculation. This innovation reduced the distance between units while preventing performance loss due to partial mixing of inlet and outlet air.
